Make-Ups & Cancellations

We at BumbleBee Tennis invest countless hours everyday coordinating high quality, affordable, size-limited tennis lessons with superior instructors that only we can offer. This involves coordinating facility availability, instructor schedules, student schedules, and often the weather. This is definitely one of our biggest jobs.

In arranging all of this for you, the only thing we ask is that you make it to the class you have registered for. Just like college, your tuition pays for a class spot in the session, regardless of attendance. However, as a courtesy, we have set up a rescheduling service to assist you with a limited amount of reschedules. See complete rescheduling guidelines below (Please keep in mind that these guidelines are for classes that you cancel; these do not include cancellations due to the weather.   • Classes missed outside of the make-up guidelines below cannot be refunded, rescheduled, or credited in any way.

For timely and accurate cancellations, please cancel classes via your online schedule.

  • Cancellations with less than 4 hours notice cannot be made up/ rescheduled refunded, or credited in any way. This also goes for classes that you miss in which we receive no notification at all.
  • Please cancel your class via your online schedule. If you would like to receive a make- up class, cancellations via email or phone call are NOT RECOMMENDED. It can be slow and have a greater chance for misunderstanding. Only when you receive the cancellation email are you fully canceled and eligible for a make-up.

8-12 Week Sessions

  • For the Fall & Spring sessions at the West Side Columbus Circle location:
    • 1st class missed
      • At least 4 hours cancellation notice before your class – FREE make-up class.
    • 2nd class missed
      • At least 4 hours cancellation notice before your class – $12 cancellation fee.
    • There is maximum of 2 make-up classes per 8-12 week session.
    • Missed classes due to personal reasons must be taken within their season and cannot be extended to the next season.  Canceled classes due to weather/facility issues please see our weather policy.

13-14 Week Sessions

  • For the Fall & Winter SoHo, UN Plaza & LES locations:
    • 1st class missed
      • At least 4 hours cancellation notice before your class – FREE makeup class.
    • 2nd class missed
      • At least 4 hours cancellation notice before your class – FREE makeup class.
    • 3rd class missed
      • At least 4 hours cancellation notice before your class – $12 cancellation fee.
    • There is maximum of 3 make-up classes per 13-14 week session.

Open Enrollment Sessions (Individual class sign up setup)

  • Usually for the Summer:
    • Any classes missed
      • At least 48 hours cancellation notice before your class – FREE makeup class.
    • Any classes missed
      • Less than 48 hours notice, but at least 4 hours notice – $12 cancellation fee.
    • No maximum on number of missed classes.

Make-Up Class Restrictions

  • Make-up classes must be used within your season of classes.
  • Missed classes due to personal reasons must be made-up within the season and cannot be extended to the next season.  For canceled classes due to weather/facility issues, please see our weather policy.
  • Rain dates are automatically added to the end of your session and are listed on the schedule page; therefore, students should keep those dates open in their schedule.  If you cannot make a rain date, it does count as a missed class.
  • Make-up classes are subject to availability.
  • The more advanced notice you give us, the more likely it is that we will find you an appropriate make-up class.

We offer the most flexible cancellation policy of any tennis club in the city for adult group tennis classes!

Easily cancel your class online within 48 hours of the class time and instantly receive a credit that can be used towards another class for another time or another day. No cancellation fee!

  • Less than 48 hours notice, but at least 4 hours notice – $12 cancellation fee.
  • No limit on number of missed classes/ make-up classes as long as you cancel your class within 48 hours.
  • Less than 4 hours notice or no notice- cancellations cannot be refunded, rescheduled, or credited in any way.
    • This policy unfortunately does apply to missed classes due to sickness, traffic, subway issues, work and being lost.

This policy is for scheduled weekly private lessons, on and off private lessons, or lessons within a private lesson package for adults and kids. Please contact us 48 hours before the lesson if you need to cancel.

1:1 Private Lesson Cancellation Policy

Easily cancel your class online!  Please make sure to cancel your class according  to the guidelines below to receive a credit that can be used towards another class for another time or another day. No cancellation fee!

  • Indoor Lessons (UN Plaza & SoHo): 48 hours notice is required to be eligible to reschedule the lesson; less than 48 hours notice will mean the class is forfeited and cannot be made up in any way.
  • Outdoor Lessons (Columbus Circle): 24 hours notice is required and we must have notice by 4pm the weekday before your scheduled class- $25 rescheduling fee.
  • No limit on the number of missed classes or make-up classes, as long as you cancel classes within the policy above.

Private Group & Semi-Private Lesson Cancellation

Cancellations for Private Groups & Semi- Private Lessons are the same as 1:1 Private Lessons with the following additional terms applied:

  • If any person in the private/semi-private group class cannot make the class, and the class still takes place, the class cannot be made up, nor can a credit be issued for that individual.
  • If the entire group cannot make the class or would like to reschedule the class, please refer to the terms in the 1:1 Private Lessons for details.
  • The late cancellation fee of $25 is total for a private group or semi-private group. Therefore, if you are in a 2 person semi-private class that late cancels, each person pays $12.50.
  • Cancellations that do not follow the guidelines listed in the 1:1 Private Lessons above cannot be refunded, rescheduled, or credited in any way. This policy unfortunately does apply to missed classes due to sickness, traffic, subway issues, work and being lost.


To request a refund, please email us at info@bumblebeetennis.com with your reason for requesting a refund.

We strongly believe you will love tennis classes with us! But if for some reason you need to cancel an entire session, we can refund your full payment minus a cancellation fee. The cancellation fee covers credit card processing charges and administrative expenses to adjust classes due to the cancellation.

Cancellation fees are a percentage of the order total.

Within 10 days of the order:

  • Same Day Refunds: Any refunds done the day of the order will be fully refunded, minus a $5 cancellation fee per student.
  • Refunds done within 10 days of the order will be refunded, minus classes that have passed and a 9% cancellation fee.

    More than 10 days after the order:

    • Full refund minus classes that have passed and a 15% cancellation fee.
    • Most refunds will be made via check sent to you through the mail.

    • Missing days during your camp session:
      • Missed days during your camp session cannot be made up since students only attend camp during that specified week. However, your notification of an absence is greatly appreciated.
    • Summer camp deposit refunds:
      • Summer camp deposits cannot be refunded since your spot was held for the camp with that deposit.

    If you pay your deposit but do not pay your remaining balance by the payment due date, your spot will be opened up to other registrants. This, however, does not mean that you have lost your deposit. If an open spot remains in the program, you can simply pay your balance and sign up for the camp.

    If you have to cancel a week of summer camp:

    If your child cannot make it to summer camp the week that you have signed up for, see the below guidelines or consider moving your child’s camp to another available week.  Due to high demand and limited number of spaces in our camp, we appreciate ample notice of any cancellations.

    • Same day (as placement of order) cancellation- $7 cancellation fee.
    • If you cancel your camp order within 7-8 weeks prior to the camp- 95% refund.
    • 5-6 weeks prior to camp- 80% refund.
    • 2-4 Weeks prior to camp- 50% refund.
    • 1 Week prior to camp- 10% refund.
    • 7 days prior to camp- does not qualify for a refund, credit, or transfer to another week.

    Changing your week of summer camp

    • 7-8 weeks prior to camp- free change of dates.
    • 2-6 Weeks prior to camp- $45 rescheduling service fee per student per week.
    • 1 Week prior to camp- $85 rescheduling service fee per student per week.
