Intermediate to Advanced Levels
The programs below are targeted towards students interested in playing a tournament down the line or high school tennis and have already taken a one or more years of tennis.
Classes meet once a week, however to prepare for a USTA tournament, more weekly practice is required, such as 2-3x’s/week year around and 2-3 private lessons a month.
- Bronze (7-9yrs): The bronze competition class is an exciting program that is similar to our Mini Aces rally class, but with more advanced drills and rally play. This class is offered in 60 minute or 90 minute sessions as small group classes, 4:1 student to teacher ratio or 6:1 student to teacher ratio settings respectively. Court size is also a youth sized 36’ court. Students should have been playing for at least a year regularly.
- Silver (8-11yrs): The silver competition class is the same time and student to teacher ratio as the bronze level, but the next level up and on a 60’ width court. Students will be challenged to have longer and more controlled rally and point play, use topspin and underspin shots. A full court size is reduced a few feet around to make a 60’ court, therefore allowing for prolonged rallies and more practice. Students should have been playing for at least 2 years with practice once a week, or a year accelerated program, to sign up for this class.
- Gold (11-15yrs): The gold program is the next level after silver played on a adult sized court. Students improve their topspin consistency, serve, game strategy and power. Students should have taken 2-3 years of tennis instruction to do this program.
