Welcome spring time! Who’s excited for the warm weather to finally be here? Although it seems like the fall just past, the winter was long and coooold. Since being in New York City, I feel it was the coldest winter I’ve experienced. Now I’m very ready to go outside, wear shorts (well not just yet), but wear less clothes and most of all play tennis.
“What do I need to start playing tennis?”
Some of you may be thinking right now, “What do I need to start playing tennis again?”, then start going through the list. “Hmm…first warm weather- almost got that, next find my tennis racquet, next find some balls, next find a friend to play tennis with, next find a place to play and so on.” By the time you get to the end of your list you might be discouraged. Well at this thought moment, may I pop into your brain and suggest a convenient option, BumbleBee Tennis lessons?
Convenient Tennis Court Location? Check
BumbleBee Tennis adult tennis lessons and youth tennis lessons* are conveniently available near Columbus Circle. I’m still not sure if that’s considered to be Manhattan’s upper west side or midtown west Manhattan. Either way it is easily accessible from the upper west side, midtown and even SoHo because of the B/D Express train and the 1 train that stop there. From there it is about a 8-10 minute walk to tennis court.
*BumbleBee Tennis also offers tennis lessons for kids at other new york city locations, mainly SoHo and LES.
Tennis Partners? Check
Our tennis lessons for kids and adults offer small group tennis lessons, basically a max of 4 students per instructor (note cardio tennis clinics is a max of 6 because the focus is on hitting and a fast paced cardio tennis workout ) so it’s almost like an instant tennis matchup. In addition we offer class levels that help match up the right levels. I can’t guarentee exact level match up, but it’s close.
Find a time? Check.
In my opinion for adults, we now offer the most flexible tennis lesson scheduling in New York City! We offer affordable packages where you can sign up as you go or find a set time and stick to it so nobody takes your spot. With our new site (the one your are reading now
), you can easily sign up for your classes online or cancel them without a fee if you do it 5 days before the class date. Ahh…instant tennis friends.
Tennis Balls and Raquet? Check.
Balls are definitely included in the tennis lesson. Just bring your self dressed ready for tennis, maybe a bottle of water and your tennis raquet. Or if you haven’t figured out where you stored your racquet, we offer racquet rentals for $2. Now there is no good reason to get on the court!
After you get into playing tennis again, you’ll probably want to play even more. I’ll try to cover tennis court locations in NYC in the next few posts.
